Fees and Charges
Our registration fees ensure that all players are covered by insurance and have access to high-quality programs. These fees allow us to maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised environment while supporting the growth and development of basketball in our community. Our registration fee has two components:
— Basketball NSW Fees: These are minimum fees set annually by Basketball NSW for all participants (players, coaches, officials, etc.). This fee covers essential services provided by Basketball NSW, including insurance and governance.
For more information, please refer to the Basketball NSW Membership FAQ and Fee Schedule.
— BMBA Membership Fees: BMBA charges an additional membership fee on top of the Basketball NSW minimum to help cover our operational overheads. These include staff wages, technology, software subscriptions and website hosting fees, among others.
2025 Registration Fees:
> U12: $105.50
> U14-18: $115.50
> Senior: $125.50
> Coach, Referee and Managers: $13.62
(Note that the Coach, Referee and Manager fee is waived if also registered as a player.)
If you already hold an active Basketball NSW Membership with another association, you will only be charged $50 for Secondary Membership with BMBA.
Please note: There is a known error in Basketball Connect that is incorrectly charging Secondary Members the full membership fee. A fix is being worked on, however in the meantime you will need to pay the full amount.
If you are impacted by this issue, please contact us and will issue you a refund for the difference.
Game fees are charged per player and cover the operational costs of running each competition, including court hire, referee and court supervisor payments, and equipment. Game fees must be paid at the start of each season via Basketball Connect.
Winter 2025 Game Fees:
> U12: $140
> U14-18: $160
> Senior: $200
Important Update: Game Fee Increase
We have made the difficult decision to increase game fees across all competitions by $20 per player. While we strive to keep fees as low as possible, we are facing two unavoidable cost increases:
– We are now required to charge GST on all fees, resulting in an automatic 10% increase.
– The council will be increasing court hire costs in June.
We understand that any fee increase can be challenging, and we remain committed to making our competitions accessible to everyone. If you need financial assistance, we encourage you to explore our support initiatives. Please reach out to us for more information.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support
Note: If you participate in multiple age groups (e.g., playing in both U18 and Senior competitions), you will need to pay the applicable game fees for each competition separately.
Our Development Programs offer focused training led by experienced coaches to help players enhance their skills and confidence.
Program fees are all inclusive and do not require participants to hold a Basketball NSW membership to participate.
Winter 2025 Program Fees:
> U10 Learn to Play: $132
> Skill Builder: $132
> Holiday Clinics: Vary as they are often subsidised though community grants and other initiatives. Fees for each clinic will be published with the registration information.
Note: If you participate in both our competitions and development programs, you will need to pay the applicable game fees and program fees separately.
All transactions processed via Basketball Connect incur a surcharge, which is added to your total payment based on your chosen payment method. The surcharge amount will be clearly calculated and displayed before you finalise your payment.
This surcharge is set by Basketball NSW and Basketball Connect to cover the costs of processing the transaction, including bank fees, merchant fees, and the ongoing maintenance and support of the Basketball Connect platform.
