Schedule of Fees

We strive to keep fees transparent and affordable to support the growth of basketball in our community. Whether you’re joining as a player, coach, or official, we’ve designed our fees to ensure fair value while supporting the growth and sustainability of our programs.

Our fee structure covers everything needed to deliver a high-quality experience, including court hire, referee payments, and administration costs.  Explore the details below to understand what our fees cover. All fees are inclusive of GST.

Please note that registration and game fees are separate. Registration fees are due annually on your renewal date, which will differ for each person. Game fees are due at the start of each season and must be paid when joining your team. If your annual registration fee is due at the same time as the game fees, the system will automatically charge you for both.

Fees are reviewed each season and are collected though the Basketball Connect platform. Cash payments and EFT are no longer accepted.

Fees and Charges

Annual Registration Fee

Our registration fees ensure that all players are covered by insurance and have access to high-quality programs. These fees allow us to maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised environment while supporting the growth and development of basketball in our community. Our registration fee has two components:

  — Basketball NSW Fees: These are minimum fees set annually by Basketball NSW for all participants (players, coaches, officials, etc.). This fee covers essential services provided by Basketball NSW, including insurance and governance.

For more information, please refer to the Basketball NSW Membership FAQ and Fee Schedule.

  — BMBA Membership Fees: BMBA charges an additional membership fee on top of the Basketball NSW minimum to help cover our operational overheads. These include staff wages, technology, software subscriptions and website hosting fees, among others.

2025 Registration Fees:

  > U12: $105.50

  > U14-18: $115.50

  > Senior: $125.50

  > Coach, Referee and Managers: $13.62

(Note that the Coach, Referee and Manager fee is waived if also registered as a player.)

Secondary Registration

If you already hold an active Basketball NSW Membership with another association, you will only be charged $50 for Secondary Membership with BMBA.

Please note: There is a known error in Basketball Connect that is incorrectly charging Secondary Members the full membership fee. A fix is being worked on, however in the meantime you will need to pay the full amount.

If you are impacted by this issue, please contact us and will issue you a refund for the difference.

Game Fees (per Season)

Game fees are charged per player and cover the operational costs of running each competition, including court hire, referee and court supervisor payments, and equipment.  Game fees must be paid at the start of each season via Basketball Connect.

Summer 2025-26 Game Fees:

   > U14-18: $175

  > Senior: $215

Note: If you participate in multiple age groups (e.g., playing in both U18 and Senior competitions), you will need to pay the applicable game fees for each competition separately.

Aussie Hoops Skills

Our  Aussie Hoops Skills Programs offer focused training led by experienced coaches to help players enhance their skills and confidence.

Fees are all inclusive and do not require participants to hold a Basketball NSW membership to participate.

Term 4 Aussie Hoops Skills Fees:

  > $75

8 week program

All Term 4 participants will receive a free singlet and basketball with their registration.

– Rookies (Ages 4–6): A fun and active introduction to basketball focused on movement, coordination, and simple ball skills. Perfect for our youngest players who are just starting out.

   – Rising Stars (Ages 7–9): Designed for primary school players, these sessions build essential skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and basic teamwork in a fun, engaging setting.

   – All Stars (Ages 10–12): Targeted at older beginners or developing players, these sessions provide more structured skill development, introducing players to game situations and concepts

Aussie Hoops Academy

Our Aussie Hoops Academies are the next step in our development pathway.

These sessions combine targeted skill work with modified, coach-supported and non-competitive gameplay focused on applying skills in a game-like context.

Coaches actively guide players during games, with the freedom to pause play to teach, correct, and reinforce learning. This format helps bridge the gap between training and competition, ensuring players are prepared—physically and mentally—for their next step, whether that’s domestic competition or representative basketball.

Annual Basketball NSW Registration is required for all Academy participants.

Term 4 Aussie Hoops Academy Fees:

  > $85

9 week program

All Term 4 participants will receive a free singlet and basketball with their registration.
