We’re excited to share that from Term 4 2025, we’ll be launching our fully reimagined Junior Development Program – a major step forward in how we support young players aged 4–12 across our club.
Key highlights of the new structure include:
– Rejoining the national Ford Aussie Hoops program, offering a fun, structured introduction to basketball for new players
– A fully age-based pathway (Rookies: 4–6, Rising Stars: 7–9, All Stars: 10–12), allowing players to develop at their own pace and stage
– The launch of two program streams: Skills Sessions (training-style learning) and Development Academies (coach-led, game-integrated learning)
– Term-based delivery instead of season-long programs, giving families more flexibility and more opportunities to progress throughout the year
– Custom Blue Mountains-branded gear, provided free to all Term 4 participants and available for purchase thereafter
– Club-formed teams in the All Star Academy to ensure inclusive, balanced participation
– A structured coach development pathway for parents and volunteers
Our new program will officially launch with the start of the Summer 2025–26 season. Pilot Skills Sessions for Rookies and Rising Stars begin in Term 3.
We’re proud to be building a pathway that supports every player—from their first bounce to their first representative game and beyond.
